2016 - 2020

LaVarro created a lot of original content. Content written by himself as well as content he was commissioned to create for other people. He also helped other content creators generate the content they were passionate about.

2020

LaVarro was in a horrible bike accident where he was hit by a truck. He was in the hospital for 3 weeks and could not walk for 3 months.

2020

After the accident LaVarro was determined to get back to creating right away, The day before he was cleared by the doctors to walk, he shot his award-winning short sci-fi film "Fade" He went on to create more independent content as well as create for television.

2024

LaVarro decided after all his years of content creation, that his passion was in telling stories, as well as empowering others to tell their stories as well. He had been given the run around by Hollywood long enough.  They always wanted him to wait to create.  To get permission to tell the stories he was passionate about.  Wait for the right time, the right money, the right whatever. Instead, de decided to create the LVPRO Filmhouse, a place where creators can learn, create and connect, and they can "Do it Now"

My Core Beliefs

  • LEARN: Learning is about more than just knowing how to do things. Of course, I want to know things but I also want to understand. I want to be able to understand and talk to other professionals about the things they know in their language. Content creation is collaboration. Though I am knowledgeable about a lot of things I never like being called an expert. It gives the notion that I have nothing left to learn and there is always so much more.

  • CREATE: Always be creating! I've learned to never let anything stop me from being creative. When there were industry strikes, I started doing stand-up comedy, when I couldn't do comedy I started making tables. At all times I need to flex this creative muscle, if this sounds like you welcome to your tribe.

  • CONNECT: People. No matter what I am creating, I need people. People to create with, people to create for. Could I create alone?  Could I watch these movies, perform this comedy, and listen to these podcasts myself? Sure. But what's the fun in that? Content creation is collaboration. I am always looking for my tribe.

  • DOIT NOW: Whatever I want to create the time to do it is now. I am an idea machine. I don't save the ideas I have now for later. I don't wait for the right time, the right money, or the right person to say it's okay to create. I Do It Now! I was given this gift to create. If I wait, the gift will be given to someone else and I will see my idea on television created by someone else. I'm appreciative of my gifts, and I am urgent about creating.

JUMP!

You don’t have to know

Every big idea I had, I had no idea how I was going to get it done. I have been making this up as I go along for years. What I have always done, is jump in. I don't know if it's going to be great, or bad or even exist when it's all said and done. But at the end of the project I either have something I am very proud of, or a list of lessons I can take with me to the next adventure. Both are equally valuable. There is zero value in non-action. I grew up in Detroit, MI. No one in my family works in content creation, and I don't know Tyler Perry. Somehow I am still creating. You can create too.
